Federal Employee Program (FEP) members have reported receiving fraudulent mail from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. The communication instructs members to throw away their old FEP ID cards and retain the enclosed "Team Care Essential State Health Plan" cards. The enclosed cards are not valid!
Legitimate FEP ID cards will display an eight-digit Federal ID number. This number will always be preceded by the letter "R" (e.g., R12345678).
