Highmark Health 2017 Enterprise Giving Summary

Throughout the Highmark Health enterprise we share a mission: to deliver high-quality, accessible, understandable, and affordable experiences, outcomes, and solutions for our customers.

Our dedication to serving each and every customer goes hand in hand with our commitment to meeting the needs of the communities where we operate. Each year, Highmark Health and our affiliates, including our affiliated foundations, collectively provide millions of dollars to support stronger communities of healthier people.

We embrace a responsibility to invest in and give back to our communities through corporate giving, as well as signature programs like the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, employee volunteerism and philanthropy, and diversity and inclusion efforts.

Highmark Health and its affiliates also provide significant charity and uncompensated care, including health coverage for those unable to pay for services, funding for programs for the treatment and prevention of disease or injury, and funding for the prevention of conditions, behavior or activities that adversely impact health. Beneficiaries include community health oriented programs for charitable organizations, community hospitals, and other health care providers in our markets. These funds also support the missions of the Highmark Foundation and the Caring Foundation, as well as insurance programs offered by Highmark Inc. for low-income members.

We are proud of our decades-long legacy of corporate giving and dedicated to continuing our tradition of service to the community for years to come.
