As the dental industry has evolved over the past several years, so has United Concordia. Remaining focused on making all mouths healthy, United Concordia has concentrated on expanding its dental network one of the nation’s largest and enhancing its technology. These efforts have resulted in United Concordia winning back former customers like the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
"In 2017, United Concordia regained more than 30 former customers," said Laurie Laspina, vice president, Western Division Sales. "Our efforts to grow our network and enhance our technology is working, and the proof is in the progress we've made."
After collecting feedback through its "Voice of the Customer" initiative, United Concordia made several improvements to its self-service technology. My Patients' Benefits, an online application for providers, and My Dental Benefits, an online tool for members, both underwent redesigns to make them more streamlined and user-friendly, and to ensure customers have access to dental benefits any time day or night.
United Concordia has also continued to strengthen its network. Over the past four years, United Concordia has experienced a nearly 23-percent increase in the size of its network, providing customers even greater access to high-quality, cost-effective dental care and lower out-of-pocket costs.
"Our PPO network is substantially bigger today than even a few years ago, giving members more choice and savings by using a United Concordia participating dentist," said Laspina. "We are proud that most members have two or more dentists within a 10-mile radius."
In 2018, United Concordia will remain committed to staying ahead of industry trends and providing its customers with the service and technology they deserve. From smartphone apps to a dental health assessment tool, electronic billing to immediate access to patient benefits, United Concordia is giving customers the tools and on-demand service they want in today’s marketplace.
