In May 2017, United Concordia Dental successfully implemented the world's largest voluntary dental insurance plan, the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP). United Concordia employees spent the previous year planning and collaborating to ensure a successful contract implementation for military service personnel and their families.

"We added more than 200 employees to our Government Business Unit over the past year to guarantee that our military members receive the care they deserve," said Lynne Hamilton, vice president, Government Strategy and Programs.

"Each employee goes through an intense eight-week training period to ensure they are able to deliver top-notch service from day one on the phones."

Additionally, the Defense Health Agency noted that United Concordia loaded the "Gold File" — a database containing 1.8 million member records — quicker and more efficiently than any other contractor to date.

Since implementation, United Concordia has met and exceeded TDP performance standards for calls answered, claims processed, and network access.

By providing strong customer service, a broad and stable network of dentists, and innovative products — such as preventive sealants with no out-of-pocket expenses for members and decreases in monthly premiums — United Concordia will continue working diligently to deliver high-quality care to the approximately 1.8 million uniformed service active duty family members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their families.
