Highmark Health named to Forbes America's Best Employers 2022 list

In 2022, Highmark Health earned placement on the prestigious Forbes America's Best Employers list. The list, comprised of 500 large employers and 500 midsize employers, is based on an independent survey of approximately 60,000 American workers. Assessment criteria include atmosphere at work and potential for development; working conditions; salary and wages; workplace; and diversity.

Cynthia Hundorfean named one of Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People

President and CEO of Allegheny Health Network for six years, and now serving as chief Living Health development officer at Highmark Health, Cynthia Hundorfean was recognized as one of the industry's 100 Most Influential People by Modern Healthcare. This is the second time Hundorfean has been named to the list. Earlier in 2022, Modern Healthcare named her one of the nation’s Top Women Leaders, and she is also among a select few women honored as "luminaries" for outstanding, sustained contributions to the health care industry over their careers.

AHN Saint Vincent Hospital earned the prestigious Magnet® recognition, the nation's highest honor for nursing excellence. AHN Saint Vincent is one of only 9% of hospitals — out of more than 6,300 nationwide — to achieve Magnet recognition, a testament to Saint Vincent's dedication to high-quality nursing practice. This distinguished honor is bestowed to health care organizations by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for meeting rigorous standards for nursing excellence and is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice.

AHN's Center for Inclusion Health recognized by Society of General Internal Medicine

AHN's Center for Inclusion Health (CIH) was recognized by the Society of General Internal Medicine with its 2022 Quality and Practice Innovation Award. CIH was formed in 2014 as one of the nation’s first comprehensive programs of its kind focused on meeting the health care needs of individuals in underserved or marginalized populations. Through a coordinated and compassionate care delivery model, and using evidence-based interventions, its programs address obstacles that can make it difficult for people to access care, including addiction, food insecurity, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, gender diversity, incarceration, immigration, and more

AHN named among America's Best Employers by Forbes Magazine

AHN was named among America's Best Employers by Forbes Magazine for the fourth consecutive year. AHN was one of 14 Pennsylvania hospitals or health systems to be named among the nation's Best Employers, and the only one from the western Pennsylvania region to make the list in 2022. AHN has appeared on the list every year since Forbes first published it in 2019.

The Disability Equality Index® is a leading national benchmark established jointly by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN. For the eighth consecutive year, Highmark Health earned a top score of 100 points across index criteria, and was once again recognized as a leader among 415 corporations.

Chief Clinical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer earns top leadership honors

Dr. Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew is a nationally recognized leader in diversity and global health. In 2022, she was recognized for the second consecutive year by Modern Healthcare in the Top 25 Diversity Leaders list. Additional honors include the Anthem Awards for DEI Leader of the Year, 2022 PA Group’s Peace and Justice Award, Pennsylvania Commission for Women 20 Exceptional Women Veterans, and Becker’s List of 40 transformational DEI leaders from hospitals and health systems.

YMCA Buffalo Niagara presents Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY with Stewart Partnership Award

In 2022, YMCA Buffalo Niagara awarded Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York its Stewart Partnership Award. This accolade is given annually to an organization in the community that aligns with the YMCA’s mission and works with the Y to create a lasting, positive impact on the local community.

enGen was proud to sponsor the Disability Mentoring Day Kickoff Reception, hosted by Bender Consulting Services, Inc. Taking place on Oct. 17, 2022, at the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, PA, the event welcomed students from across the area, as well as business leaders and educators, including Mick Malec, enGen CEO and Enterprise Technology and Operations officer. Funds raised at this event provided support for the Linda Dickerson Scholarship.

In 2022, HM Insurance Group was ranked No. 9 in premium size among the nation's top stop loss carriers. The ranking was provided by MyHealthGuide Newsletter for the Self-Funded Community, "Stop Loss Providers Ranked by Annual Premium."

HM Insurance Group companies' A ratings reaffirmed by AM Best

HM Life Insurance Company, HM Life Insurance Company of New York, and Highmark Casualty Insurance Company were assigned an A rating by AM Best, a global credit rating agency that focuses on the insurance industry. The ratings reflect the level of each company's financial strength and stability.

United Concordia Dental named a Forbes Best Employer by State 2022

United Concordia Dental was named a Forbes America’s Best Employer by State 2022 for Pennsylvania, where 70,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees were surveyed anonymously. Ranked 65 out of the 100 top employers in Pennsylvania, United Concordia's inclusion in the Forbes award, for a second time, supports its work to build an employee-first company culture with engaged team members who are invested in their jobs, the company's future and better serving client needs.

United Concordia Dental receives international recognition for marketing campaigns

In 2022, United Concordia Dental earned several awards for its marketing work on the TRICARE Dental Program's "Need to Know" enrollment campaign. The 15- and 30-second video spots received an International Silver Muse award; a Silver Vega Digital Centauri award; an Award of Distinction from the Communicators Awards in the health care advertising category; and two Silver Telly awards in Online Commercials — Health and Wellness.
