The national blended health organization is honored for the first time as a "Best Large Employer"
PITTSBURGH (February 10, 2022) — Highmark Health, a national blended health organization comprised of one of America's largest health insurers and a 14-hospital integrated delivery network, has been named to the Forbes list of America's Best Employers 2022. Presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the prestigious list of 500 large employers and 500 midsize employers was evaluated through an independent survey applied to a sample of approximately 60,000 American workers.
Employing more than 37,000 people, Highmark Health was honored as part of the Best Large Employers category among the top 5 of ranking health insurers. Anonymous participants worked full-time or part-time at a business with at least 1,000 employees and evaluated employers based on 6 key drivers: atmosphere at work and potential for development, image, working conditions, salary and wages, workplace, and diversity.
"This is the first year Highmark Health has been included in America's Best Large Employers, which is a testament to the transformative efforts demonstrated by all 37,000 of our team members," said Larry Kleinman, EVP, chief human resources officer, Highmark Health. "Re-engineering health care through Living Health; expanding upon the foundations of our diversity, equity, and inclusion programs; and deploying our flexible Work from Anywhere model are just a few initiatives that have positioned us as a competitive, national employer."
The evaluation was based on direct responses from American workers who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Respondents were also asked to nominate organizations other than their own, as well as identify organizations they would not recommend to others.
Highmark Health is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa., with corporate offices in Camp Hill, Pa.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Wilmington, Del.; Parkersburg, W.Va.; and Buffalo, N.Y. To view the full list of employers and methodology, visit Forbes.com.
