AHN Grove City in Grove City, Pa., becomes Allegheny Health Network's ninth hospital. AHN Hempfield, AHN McCandless, AHN Brentwood, and AHN Harmar Neighborhood Hospitals become Allegheny Health Network's tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth hospitals in western Pennsylvania.

Centerbridge Partners, L.P. and Highmark Inc. and its subsidiary HVHC complete a transaction in which Centerbridge acquires Davis Vision and minority interest in Visionworks, and Highmark acquires minority interest in the combined Davis Vision/Superior Vision business.

Highmark Business Solutions formed to provide technology and business solutions to the health insurance industry, later renamed and launched as HM Health Solutions in 2014.

Highmark Health launched as new parent of Highmark Inc. and Allegheny Health Network and their respective subsidiaries and affiliates.

Allegheny Health Network launched as parent of an integrated health care delivery network that includes eight hospitals; more than 2,500 affiliated physicians; and additional facilities, institutions and services.

Highmark Inc. affiliated with Jefferson Regional Medical Center, including Jefferson Hospital; Saint Vincent Health System, including Westfield Memorial Hospital; and West Penn Allegheny Health System, including Allegheny General, Allegheny Valley, Canonsburg, Forbes and West Penn Hospitals.
