New health and wellness pavilion illuminates the future of health care
In October, Allegheny Health Network opened its state-of-the-art Health + Wellness Pavilion in Wexford — a facility that raises the bar on quality of care, convenience, coordination and service excellence in the region. It is a unique, multi-specialty outpatient center that gives residents of the North Hills of Pittsburgh close-to-home access to a full spectrum of comprehensive healthcare services under one roof.
The 175,000 square-foot pavilion offers a broad range of preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and retail healthcare services, including primary care physician offices with walk-in appointments; a cancer institute with leading-edge radiation and medical oncology capabilities, palliative care and hospice services; an outpatient surgery center with four operating rooms and three minor procedure rooms; a comprehensive Women's Health Center housing a full spectrum of gynecologic and breast-care services, including advanced 3D mammography with tomosynthesis; a cardiovascular institute complete with access to medical and surgical specialists and cardiac rehabilitation; comprehensive orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, exercise physiology and rehabilitation care, including aqua therapy; pain therapy, behavioral health, social work, nutrition and routine and advanced diagnostic imaging services such as CT, PET scans and MRI.
Patients can also receive care from specialists in pediatrics, neurosurgery, neurology, bariatrics, vascular surgery, endocrinology/diabetes care, rheumatology, thoracic and esophageal disease, gastroenterology, plastic surgery and pain management; and take advantage of the on-site laboratory, retail pharmacy and a Visionworks® store. A demonstration kitchen allows for innovative educational programs for patients with dietary health concerns such as diabetes.
The Health + Wellness Pavilion was designed to enhance the patient experience and meet their every need. Concierge service on each floor helps patients navigate the facility with ease, while other amenities include free general and valet parking, an outdoor garden plaza, a café, and an Austin's Playroom developed through contributions from the Mario Lemieux Foundation that offers free childcare while patients attend their appointments.
AHN is proud to offer patients this remarkable new innovation — the future of health care. Said John Paul, president and CEO of Allegheny Health Network, "The new Health + Wellness Pavilion in Wexford demonstrates Highmark Health's and AHN's commitment to bringing comprehensive, high-tech patient care to the communities we serve."
