Joseph Pabin relocated from Ohio to participate in the Careers2B program at HM Health Solutions. He was offered a full-time position at the company as an associate application developer within six months of joining the program.
Career development opportunities made available for people with disabilities
In partnership with Bender Consulting, which helps companies recruit and hire people with disabilities, HM Health Solutions developed a "Careers2B" program. This program helps people with disabilities gain actual work experience. HM Health Solutions committed to placing 12 entry-level individuals with disabilities across the company in 12-month assignments, providing them with valuable work experience and marketable skills. The "Careers 2B" participants have the opportunity to apply for open positions across the Highmark Health enterprise or to pursue career opportunities in the general market. In 2014, four "Careers2B" participants accepted full-time positions at HM Health Solutions.
